- It is essential that you tell us your surgery goal and expectations.
- Tell us your full medical history, however unrelated or insignificant it might seem to you.
- Ask us all the questions you have before, during and after surgery.
- Avoid hair dye and contact with chemical products at least 7 days prior to surgery.
- Avoid applying cosmetics on face, body and nails the day of surgery.
- Stop taking aspirin or related-products at least 20 days prior to surgery.
- Get serum and anti-tetanus vaccine at least 24 hours prior to surgery. You must have valid anti-tetanus vaccine coverage.
- You must wear cotton underwear.
- Stop taking medications, except the allowed ones.
- Wear loose outdoor clothes.
- 8-hour fasting prior to surgery.
- You should preferably leave the clinic accompanied by a close person.
- Follow a healthy diet following surgery (soft food).
- Do not make physical efforts after surgery.
- Sleep with two pillows following surgery.
- It is advisable to stock up on prescriptions ahead of time, if possible (antibiotics, analgesics).
- You will need somebody to accompany you on the day and night of the surgery, in a comfortable and quiet setting.
- Bruising, edema and discomforts are common following surgery.
- Usually, the surgery result cannot be immediately seen; the body needs time to adapt to the new situation.
- You must sign “consents” prior to surgery, according to the type of surgery to be performed.
