Facial Fractures

Accidents or violent situations produce distress, especially when the face has been affected. It is important to contact our team as soon as possible since, working altogether, we can repair and/or mitigate the trauma sequelae.

Fractures are surgically treated when they alter function or appearance. In the first case, surgical treatment is essential. In the second case, a consensus must be reached between the patient, the family and the surgical team.

Some fractures should be immediately immobilized (typically with titanium plates and screws) because they can produce irreversible damage to the body, however, in most cases, surgery may take place a few days later, once the conditions of affected area and the rest of the body have stabilized. This will also give the patient and his/her family the chance to adapt better to the situation and will allow the team to act precisely and efficiently.
