Lipotransfer

This is an emerging technique within the scope of Regenerative Surgery, based on traditional lipofilling (fat filling for defects and wrinkles), which can be used as a single procedure or in combination with conventional cosmetic surgery techniques.

It consists in injecting the patient´s own fat, which is processed outside the body, in order to produce a fatty tissue "mesh" that provides further firmness and/or volume to the tissue and corrects small and medium-sized defects.

Secondarily, a "regenerative" effect is obtained due to the presence of growth factors and the increased production of hyaluronic acid and collagen in the treated area.

Lipotransfer is used in:

- Breast reconstruction, both of small defects and full reconstruction

- Facial defects, both traumatic and congenital, including facial lipoatrophy due to antiretroviral therapies

- Body defects requiring remodelling

- Defects in external genital organs

- Skin scarring and sequelae (due to burns or trauma)
