Eyelid Surgery

As we age, our eyelids undergo unwanted changes, making them look old and tired. There are several factors, such as genetic inheritance and damage caused by the sun, that speed up these changes. There are your people who also complain of edema, swelling and fat tissue excess. "Fat deposits" also called "bags" and excess of skin, both in the upper and lower eyelids, may be dramatically improved with a procedure called blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure, with local or general anesthesia. Excess of skin and fat tissue is removed with minimal, almost invisible, scarring.

Blepharoplasty may be performed together with a face and brow lift surgery and/or peeling as part of an integral facial rejuvenating treatment.

After surgery, you may experience edema and mild bruising, which will subside over the next days. You may feel mild pain that is easily controlled with medication, as directed by your surgeon. Stitches are removed a couple of days following the procedure.

This procedure is easily tolerated by the patient and the result may be seen a few days after surgery.
