Breast Reconstruction

In a woman who has undergone mastectomy, our goal is to restore lost body harmony and obtain a breast similar to the healthy one. Our patient´s expectations and emotional status are our priority.

When planning breast reconstruction, it is essential to consider the skin left to obtain a good skin and muscle coverage, the volume to be replaced (of the prior breast) and how to address the nipple-areola complex (NAC).

There is a variety of available tools, such as skin expanders, prostheses that replace the prior breast, skin and muscle flaps from the thorax or abdomen, and lipotransfer, which help us achieve high-quality results.

The patient´s overall health status and expectations, in combination with the consultation prior to surgery, will define the ideal moment for surgery as well as the adequate reconstruction technique.

The areola and nipple are typically reconstructed in a second procedure.

During your consultation we will discuss your options.
