Regenerative Surgery

The term "Regenerative Surgery" started to be used in 2004 at the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine to refer to surgery that applies techniques derived from Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, for the repair and regeneration of cells, tissues and organs.

This has become a new alternative, within the scope of conventional Plastic Surgery, for the body to repair itself "in vivo".

Currently, the use of factors contained in fat tissue and rich plasma are the most widely known therapies, known as "Advanced Cell Therapies" (ACT). One of the ACTs used over the last years is based on the use if acellular matrices and factors that promote blood supply and new cells.

Some of the treatments where we apply Regenerative Surgery are:

- Breast reconstruction of small and big defects

- Facial defects, both traumatic and congenital

- Body defects requiring remodelling

- Muscle and tendon damage

- External genital organ alterations

- Dupuytren´s contracture and scleroatrophic diseases

- Scar and burn sequelae

- Face, hand and breast rejuvenation

- Improvement of foot atrophy

- Improvement of prior scars and stretch marks
